Debra’s Doll

Tamaras-Logo

Hi all, Just another doll example for you all. This one was a little different, in that the Bride was a Barbie fan, so I ended up using a Barbie for her Bride Doll. The mother ordered this one, and wow, what a beautiful gown! I didn’t realize how extravagant the dress was from the first couple of pictures, and ended up having to remake the dress three times before I finally got it right. I want my Bride Dolls to match as closely as possible to the real thing! The pictures just weren’t showing me the details I guess, but finally got these pics and we managed to get a good one then…

What a stunning Bride!! I hope she is pleased with the results! I sure put my heart and soul into this one! And a lot of extra hours to boot! LOL The first pictures didn’t really show all the rhinestone details, and that was one of the best part of the dress, so I had to get that right for sure! And the hair too! WOW! Hadn’t seen this style before, with the use of the weaving and braiding, and even got my niece involved to help! That was actually a lot of fun! This is what I finally came up with…

I think I got pretty close and I have to tell you, it’s not easy making Barbie hair do what it doesn’t want to do! LOL 🙂 I wanted to match the head piece as close as possible as well! It was lovely and the jewelry was very detailed, but I did the best I could! I hope she is pleased. These next pictures show the earrings and bracelet I made to match as well…

She sure was tiny! 🙂 I actually ended up cutting up fake flower petals and making them into tiny little baby roses for the bouquet. It was the only way to make it so small and look as real as possible, and match the real bouquet. I hope I came close on all the little details I tried to match. I think she actually looks a lot like her as well…You be the judge…

I had a lot of fun with this one, but I have to admit I prefer the larger porcelain dolls. It is quite a challenge making such small clothing!  I hope I did her justice! She was a stunning bride for sure!! Thank you Debra for letting me be part of this.
